******************************************************************************** ReadMe File 29 July 1998 Update: 3 Sep 1998 ******************************************************************************** You have downloaded a gzipped, tar file containing data from the PLANET Collaboration paper entitled: The 1995 Pilot Campaign of PLANET: Searching for Microlensing Anomalies through Precise, Rapid, Round-the-Clock Monitoring M. Albrow, J.-P. Beaulieu, P. Birch, J.A.R. Caldwell, S. Kane, R. Martin, J. Menzies, R.M. Naber, J.-W. Pel, K. Pollard, P. D. Sackett, K. C. Sahu, P. Vreeswijk, A. Williams, M. A. Zwaan (The PLANET Collaboration) This paper is published in the Astrophysical Journal, 1998, 509, 687, and is also available through the electronic archives at http://babbage.sissa.it/abs/astro-ph/9807299. Please reference this article if you make use of these data. In addition to this ReadMe file, the tar file consists of 20 ascii files; two for each of the 10 microlensing events monitored in 1995 by the PLANET collaboration. The files are labelled by the event and the band in which the data were taken, so that: MB9510.i.dat contains data for MACHO-95-BLG-10 in the I band, etc. (Leading M=MACHO discovery team; leading O=OGLE discovery team.) For coordinates and more information about these events, see the text of the PLANET paper listed above. Each file contains columns of data arranged in the following manner: col1 timestamp HJD - 2449718.5 col2 site Observing site where data was taken L = LaSilla (Dutch/ESO 0.9m) S = Sutherland (SAAO 1m) P = Perth (Perth Observatory 0.6m) col3 magnitude Apparent (calibrated, but undereddened) magnitude of the microlensed star col4 error Uncertainty in magnitudes col5 magnitude Magnitude of reference star #1 in field col6 error Uncertainty in magnitudes for reference star #1 col7 magnitude Magnitude of reference star #2 in field col8 error Uncertainty in magnitudes for reference star #2 . . . and so forth, for up to 10 reference stars per field (some fields will have slightly fewer reference stars). NOTE: Occasional errors in reference star and site assignment corrected as of 3 September 1998; microlensing lightcurves unaffected. ********************************************************************************
