--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2006 #7-1 (issued 6-Jul, 10:30 UT) --------------------------------------------- OGLE 2006-BLG-355 rising and falling rapidly Dear Colleagues, a re-reduction of PLANET data collected with the Danish 1.54m at ESO LaSilla (Chile) now shows the suspected rise more prominently, brightening by about 2 mag. This is followed by a sudden drop observed with the Canopus 1.0m (near Hobart, Tasmania) by about 1.5 mag within 15 minutes. Our data suggest a short-lived peak of about 2 hours [not 10 hours]. Urgent follow-up observations are strongly encouraged. A light curve plot as well as data will soon be available on our webpages. Event: OGLE 2006-BLG-355 RA (J2000): 18:04:04.50 Dec (J2000): -27:10:58.7 The baseline I magnitude reported by the OGLE team is 19.9.
