--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2005 #10-2 (issued 26-Jul, 8:55 UT) --------------------------------------------- OGLE 2005-BLG-327: Rise observed - Caustic exit in progress? Dear Colleagues, after OGLE 2005-BLG-327 remained at a magnification far above previous single-lens models for more than three days, PLANET data taken last night with the Danish 1.54m at ESO LaSilla (Chile) show a significant rise by about 0.15 mag over 9.5 hrs. This could indicate a caustic exit being in progress or shortly to come. For studying the atmosphere of the source star, dense observations around the beginning and the end of the caustic exit are of particular value. These epochs correspond to the leading or the trailing limb of the source passing the caustic. Light curve plot and PLANET data for this event are available on our webpages. Event: OGLE 2005-BLG-327 RA (J2000): 17:59:05.53 Dec (J2000): -31:47:58.2 The baseline I magnitude reported by the OGLE team is 19.99 For more information: PLANET: http://planet.iap.fr OGLE: http://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~ftp/ogle/ -------------- On behalf of the PLANET collaboration Martin Dominik %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% If you prefer not to receive further PLANET Anomaly Alerts, please send an e-mail to planet@iap.fr.
