--------------------------------------------- PLANET ANOMALY UPDATE 2004 #4-1 (issued 4-Jun, 13:25 UT) --------------------------------------------- No evidence for suspected caustic entry Dear Colleagues, a re-reduction of PLANET data collected with the Danish 1.54 at ESO LaSilla on event OGLE 2004-BLG-159, that previously gave reason to suspect the observation of a fold-caustic entry with a fold-caustic exit to be expected soon, reveals that there is no evidence for such a deviation to be real. Instead of representing proper measurements of the observed magnitude, the apparent deviation in the earlier reduced data has been caused by problems in the reduction process. More information about OGLE 2004-BLG-159 is available from PLANET at 'http://planet.iap.fr', or from OGLE at 'http://www.astrouw.edu.pl/~ftp/ogle/ogle3/ews/2004/blg-159.html'. -------------- On behalf of the PLANET collaboration, Martin Dominik %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% If you prefer not to receive further PLANET Anomaly Alerts, please send an e-mail to planet@iap.fr.
